WELcome to the home port of the Bumboat. The Bumboat's port of call is the Vermilion Yacht Club in Vermilion, Ohio. The vessel is a Jeanneau 54 Deck Salon (54 foot, 43 gross ton sloop). The Bumboat routinely sails in the western basin of Lake Erie and has been known to wander about the upper Great Lakes. The captain's crew includes his family, friends, and clients/employees of the RoviSys Company.

Enjoy your voyage aboard the Bumboat.

A new section of the Bumboat website has been added. The Image Gallery has five subsections which displays various images collected over the last few years. Most images are of sufficient quality to create prints up to 16 x 20 inches.

The Family Gallery has been updated and is a little easier to find and return. Password protection has now been added to access the site.

Current Images

The captain records many voyages and events with digital images.

Cowl vents suck fresh air into the cabin, even under the most adverse conditions. Water (rain and waves) shipped in the opening is separated from the air in the dorade box before entering the cabin.

The summer sailing camp in Vermilion is heading out to the lake. These kids have better boating skills than most adults on the river.

On a voyage across Lake Erie this summer the winds increased, rather than decrease as the forecast predicted. Winds built to over 30 knots sustained and the seas were a solid six feet. We got a good deck washing from 20 miles north of Avon Point until Cleveland.

The bumboat sailed with the tall ships off Cleveland in July. It's going to take a while to sort through the 100s of images.

Tall ships in action!! The winds were stiff and the seas lumpy; thinning out the spectator fleet.
